Official: Russia, Belarus must discuss oil transit from Kazakhstan
NUR-SULTAN, Jan 28 (PRIME) -- Russia and Belarus must agreement on Kazakh oil delivery to Belarus across Russia, Deputy Energy Minister Murat Zhurebekov told reporters on Tuesday.
“We have not been in negotiations with the Russian side. Oil transportation to Belarus across the Druzhba system was the initiative of Belarus. That’s we think that the issue must be discussed between Belarus and Russia,” Zhurebekov said.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said earlier that Minsk was proactively seeking to diversify oil imports amid oil and gas disputes with Moscow. Kazakhstan was named among the possible importers.
